Demo outside DEFRA HQ
On September 27th the 2023 ‘State Of Nature’ report was released. Nature doesn’t need another report- it needs to be restored. Now.
In response to another devastating report documenting the decline of our precious wildlife we mobilised an unprecedented coalition of wildlife organisations to protest outside government departments across the UK.
More than 40 of the UK’s most respected conservation organisations, with a combined membership of almost four million, came together to protest at the government’s failure to address the deepening crisis in nature, laid bare in the devastating State of Nature Report.
Scientists, ecologists and wildlife experts were among hundreds of people united in protest outside DEFRA offices in London, Bristol, Reading, Newcastle and York.
This rally was a direct call to the UK government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to take urgent measures to restore the UK’s nature.
Scientists in white lab coats stood shoulder-to-shoulder with those holding banners, placards and flags with the familiar logos of badgers, birds and pandas.
This is just the beginning, with a rapidly escalating biodiversity crisis we need everyone- from the individual birdwatcher to the biggest environmental NGO- to step up into direct action.
